As far as Family Restaurants in Burbank go, the Tally Rand is classic, comfortable, and reasonably priced. It caters to the younger Burbank crowd in their 50’s-60’s, while a place like Lancer’s is for the more mature 70’s-80’s plus crowd. The service was fine other than my server Baldy messed up my order and gave me a Turkey Dip, which is an easy mix-up since they are both from the Dip family and they are both listed on Tally Rand’s ‘Sumptuous Six’ section of their menu. No worries Baldy. The sandwich was very good and the beef was sliced thin, the way I like it. One standout feature about the sandwich was the roll. It had a garlic bread toasted shell for added flavor, but the rest of the roll remained spongy for taking in all of that succulent au jus. Once again I ran out of juice, a French Dip pet peeve of mine. The fries were good even though they were of the steak variety, and it was served with a side salad, which were the first greens that I have eaten in days. The Tally Rand French Dip is a very good meal at a great price.
