McCabe’s is a ‘British’ Pub, but it's more of a neighborhood hangout. Since there are so many Brits living in Santa Monica I guess it is a little of both. Whenever a place has a signature sandwich I instantly have to order it. What better way to get a handle on a place then to try their namesake? At Yakis, it’s the Yakis Burger, the Fathers Office has The Office Burger, and at McCabe's they offer ‘The Braveheart’. I find it kind of ironic that a British Pub's trademark sandwich is named after a guy who kicked their army’s butt. Putting politics and history aside, the burger was great. The Braveheart has grilled mushrooms and bacon, plus all of the regular fixings of a regular burger. The grilled mushrooms and bacon are what propelled this burger from every other. As far as bar burgers go, this one was a delectable delight. They can take our French Fries, but they can never take our FREEDOM!!!!
