Despite it’s grungy dining room and sorry salsa bar, Benitos lays home to one of my favorite hard shell tacos in the city. They put, not one but two types of cheese on the top and in the middle of the taco. The meat has a pleasing texture and is flavored well. And the taco shell is crunchy and extremely greasy. Even the lettuce looks good. The tacos were a nice change of pace after eating at Canters for the past couple of days.
