signPapoo’s Hot Dog Show had many acts on the menu including burgers, French Dips, and pastrami sandwiches. However since this is a Hot Dog Show, a chili cheese dog was today’s matinee. The menu boasted that their Hot Dog had the best snap in the city. When I bit into it, they were indeed true to their word. The natural casing actually had too much resistance. This is a problem in which I haven’t encountered until today. It was similar to sinking your teeth into a freeze-pop pulling out the ice and leaving the plastic outside. It’s a pretty gross analogy but that’s what I thought of as I was chewing on the dog while looking at the flaccid casing where the innards of the hot dog once were. To bite into the dog and rip the casing off, you really have to clinch down, and rip into that baby like you’re Mike Tyson biting Evander Holyfields ear off. The issue with this is the Chili Dog resembles a chili bread-bowl. Once pressure is applied you’re going to find chili running down your wrist. All things considered everything was pretty good. I did enjoy the slice of American cheese between the chili and the dog. Not too bad but questionable at a $4.50 price tag.
